An Ounce Of Prevention
When the night has no end
For a time we hold our breath
The world can only stop and stare
As the daylight’s left gasping for air
Sunset falls on silent streets
The world brought to its knees
Who knows the value of a life?
I know apathy comes with a price
Am I coming up for air?
Beneath the lies and the denial
Hear the tolling of the bells
All the doctors in the world
Can’t cure us of ourselves
When so-called freedom
Leaves millions grieving
I know it’s not fair
But you can’t make someone care
Am I coming up for air?
Beneath the lies and the denial
Hear the tolling of the bells
All the doctors in the world
Can’t cure us of ourselves
Am I coming up for air?
Beneath the lies and the denial
Hear the tolling of the bells
All the doctors in the world
Can’t cure us of ourselves
As we carry on
Without the strength to endure
Some things remain clear
Arguing with reality
Leaves a wake of fatality
And an ounce of prevention
Is worth a world of cure
