Eclipse
Sun comes up the morning after
Now anger blocks the road ahead
Insults thrown; illusions shatter
Every threat
And each defense
Brings us closer to the edge
Rage won’t listen
Love’s so distant
Now everything’s at risk
Eclipse
How can I see you for who you are
Through the darkness of prejudice?
How can I hope to let down my guard
When there’s so much at risk?
Eclipse
Face-off in a crowded street
Desperation lines the barricades
Hearts pounding; it’s hard to breathe
Flash of a blade
A hand grenade
We lash out when we’re most afraid
Peace lies broken
Love is choking
A struggle to exist
Eclipse
How can I see you for who you are
Through the darkness of prejudice?
How can I hope to let down my guard
When there’s so much at risk?
Eclipse
We play the perpetual victim
Wandering around in the dark
Searching for someone to blame
But when we’re left without a guide
That’s when we must be the light
Dare to reach out
Still have my doubts
But how can I resist?
Eclipse
How can I see you for who you are
Through the darkness of prejudice?
How can I hope to let down my guard
When there’s so much at risk?
How can I reach out through the dark?
Is it just a wish?
Coexist
